At the time of the earthquake, two comrades, Yun Yunxing and Yang Fengjun, were carrying out the equipment supervision tasks of the 4100mm wide plate project of Chongqing Iron and Steel Environmental Protection Relocation Project and the Turkish TOSYALI950mm Hot Strip Rolling Project. In the face of the sudden disaster and the difficulties and dangers caused by the earthquake, the two comrades did not fear or flinch. They focused on their work and stuck to their posts.

On the night of the earthquake, they risked the possibility of aftershocks at any time and entered the Erzhong plant to inspect and understand the situation of the Erzhong disaster. On the 13th, as soon as the communication was restored, the double disaster and other situations were immediately reported to the company in detail. During the day, on behalf of the company, they expressed condolences to the leaders and personnel of the relevant departments of Erzhong and understood each other's needs for earthquake relief. Before the earthquake, ordering units in Beijing, Shanghai, Shandong, Northeast and other places sent equipment supervisors to Erzhong. After the resumption of external traffic in Deyang City, most of these supervisors were evacuated from Deyang. In order to ensure the safety of comrades Yun Yunxing and Yang Fengjun, the company's leaders repeatedly proposed to transfer them to Chengdu or Chongqing as soon as possible. However, the two of them said that Chongqing Iron and Steel's environmental relocation and Turkey's TOSYALI project were the company's key projects in 2008. On May 21, Erzhong completed the pouring of the second memorial arch of the 4100mm finishing mill of Chongqing Iron and Steel Co., which was the first large piece of equipment processed by Erzhong after resuming production.
